About Me

Hi, My name is Anne Roberts and I specialise in models and 3-D portraits made from polymer clay. I like to make my models look more like themselves than reality by a mixture of caricature and potraiture techniques. My aim is to bring out their character and the twinkle in their eye.

I host workshops and childrens parties (or parties for any age for that matter) using air-drying clay.I can bring a workshop to your business function, childrens party, playschool, scoutgroup, social club,  birthday party, christening or any other occaision. I am currently running air-drying clay parties but can easily do a similar workshop using polymer clay and will soon be opening my own premises where I can host workshops and parties in Glan Conwy, North Wales.   

When I escaped from my career in Software Engineering I made a list of the things I had always wanted to try in the suddenly hugely expanded world of possibiities. From plumbing (high pay, interesting, not all fun) to Arts and Crafts (starving in garret, lots of fun), I went through the whole spectrum of pay and satisfaction. And there at the end of the list, low paid, no security, and tugging at my heart strings was what I knew I would be doing. So here I am and here is some of my work. I hope you like it.

 All my items are individually handcrafted and unique.

Caricatures:

These make a unique gift for friends or family.

 I do my very best to capture the spirit and personality of the subject, which, as you can imagine, can be difficult from a photo, so please try to supply photos  which depict the personality you are trying to capture. This is NOT a precise art and the results will not be exact.

 What I aim for is to capture the personality quirks which make you smile and which endear you to your loved one. If you would like to comission a cariacature then I would need some good photos e-mailed to me. It may take a couple of weeks to complete a model to everyone's satisfaction. I would expect to email you photos before completion for your feedback.

If we cannot agree on a likeness then there would be no obligation to complete the purchase.. I want my customers to be happy with the results. So please allow time for the artistic process to unfold.

I am happy to include anything extra you wish to incorporate eg pets, children, hobbies  but would expect to charge proportionally extra for more than one subject. 

There are different possible types of model, ranging from head and shoulders busts  from £30 to 3-D portraits  from £50 (5X7") up to £100 (8X10").

I have a range of party girl/dude and head and shoulders models ready-made, including celebrities, which make a fun gift for an 18th or 21st birthday or other celebration.

Pet Portraits:

Commission a portrait of your pet from £50 for a 5X7" portrait to £100 for a size 8X10" portrait. I would need to work from good photos of your pet showing the personality you wish to capture  in the same way as for the Caricatures.

Full figure models are available from £50 for a 3-4" model.

Arty Party

A party or workshop making or decorating models using brightly coloured air-drying clay. I come to you or reserve our Glan Conway studio to hold your party. This can be for anything from a  childrens party, to a business event and can be tailored to your requirements. If your event is too far away to make this feasible I sell Party Packs which include all you need to run your own event/ party. Charitable groups, scout groups, playschools etc can benefit from special discounts. See the 'Arty Party' page for more details.

I also supply individual craft kits to allow you to decorate your own pony/ unicorn/ pegasus with air-drying clay. These are great value and fun for kids. I use them locally for childrens craft parties.
